FIRST Robotics Competition
The FIRST Robotics Competition is an exciting, multinational competition that teams professionals and young people to solve an engineering design problem in an intense and competitive way. The program is a life-changing, career-molding experience - and a lot of fun. In 2004 the competition reached more than 20,000 students on over 900 teams in 27 competitions.
Purdue FIRST Programs has established three robotics teams in the Greater Lafayette area. Our first robotics team was started at West Lafayette High School in 1999, Westside Boiler Invasion. Just last year we started another team at Lafayette Jefferson High School in 2004, Boiler Precision Guessworks. And new to Purdue FIRST Programs in 2005 is our team at Harrison High School, Harrison Boiler Robotics.
